This workshop is designed to enable painters to advance their abilities in working with acrylics as a medium.  Using demonstrations and brief exercises, I hope to provide attendees with beneficial knowledge on the strengths and versatility of acrylics.  Ranging from the use of mediums, to that of brushwork and building a composition, I intend to help students elevate their work in a confident, painterly manner.

Supply List

  • A range of either student or professional grade acrylic paints. These should contain such colours as
    • ultramarine blue
    • cobalt blue
    • burnt sienna
    • cadmium yellow and red, as well as
    • titanium white.
    • Any other colours or hues are perfectly acceptable.
  • A few brushes ranging from 1” to 1/4”.  I would prefer students to dispense with ‘tiny brushes’
  • A pair of painting surfaces of @ 8”x 10” maximum, for classroom exercises. Other canvases or surfaces for students to work on their preferential paintings of choice.
  • Reference material for classroom work, such as photos of favourite subject matter.
  • A cover to protect the table
  • Optional: an easel or a desktop easel
