I have lived in North Vancouver British Columbia since 1989 when I emigrated from Ireland with my family. I continued my social work career with the B.C, Government.
When I retired I returned to my childhood love of painting. My paintings have been juried and exhibited at the Gallery at Hycroft in Vancouver on many occasions in group shows and one individual show. I have exhibited with the "Artful Reflections" painters at the Coach House and since joining the NSAG in 2012 have participated in Annual Fine Art Shows at Parkgate and West Vancouver community centres and the North Shore Art Crawl. My paintings were displayed regularly in the NSAG gallery Brushstrokes at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. My work has also been included in CityScape Anonymous Art Shows. I am a member of and have participated in exhibitions with the International Watercolour Society.
I try to recreate a story of contrasts of both urban and wilderness landscaoes. If I can evoke some of the emotions I felt at the time, then I am well pleased.
Six of my paintings illustrate my recently launched book of poetry "Fragments: A Poetry Mosaic".
