"To live on this shore and be able to enjoy the many gifts of nature that surround us--this moves me to try and capture those moments of joy through painting....to have the pleasure of re-visiting some of the beautiful places and sights I've seen, and to share that pleasure with others through my art work. After focussing mostly on 3-dimensional work through pottery and sculpting over the past years, it's an interesting and satisfying change to be getting more involved in painting again. I love the challenge of working in watercolour, and have recently returned to painting in oils and especially acrylics, which allow me the chance of working "en plein-air". I take great inspiration from the work of local masters such as Gordon Smith, who taught me many years ago to see with my heart as well as my eyes."
