We are five women living on Vancouver's North Shore, from diverse cultures and backgrounds who share a long-time friendship and passion for art. Twice-weekly we step out of our own studios to come together to paint, to critique each other’s work, to share ideas, and to challenge our personal artistic journeys.

In 2009, we had two group shows: one at the Silk Purse Gallery in West Vancouver, and one at Delany's in Park Royal, West Vancouver. In 2010, we are having three group shows: one at the Leighdon Gallery in Vancouver in June, one in Whistler at the Scotia Creek Gallery in September and one at the CityScape Gallery in North Vancouver in October. As well, we recently contributed paintings for postcards for the "Dare to Change Project" commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the massacre of female students at The Polytechnique in Montreal.

In the fall of 2008, after that first exhibit, 5enses was formed and we submitted a proposal for our first group show. Here we are at the opening of Stepping in Abstraction at the Silk Purse, West Vancouver, in April 2009.

Through the winter (which included the very successful 2010 Olympics) and spring we painted and exhibited at various North Shore Artists' Guild sales, the Anonymous Art show in North Vancouver and at the Spring Fair at Ecole Andre Piolat. Then came our next big show at the Leighdon Gallery in Vancouver in June 2010 entitled Summer Solstice, curated by artist-owner Jane Richardson.
