     Born in Motherwell, Scotland; Vipond was raised and schooled in  British Columbia He developed a keen interest in painting from an early age.  Now retired as an art and gym teacher with the North Vancouver School Board; he is devoting all of his time to becoming a full time and professional artist:  focusing on the Canadian landscape.   His style continues to evolve through experimentation and practice. He works in series on various themes and plays with a variety of color arrangements.  

     Vipond travels extensively and has visited most of the major art galleries in the world.  He takes inspiration from the great masters and tries to learn from them all.  Workshops and courses by local artists such as Stafford Plant, Paul Chizik, Mike Svob, and Kiff Holland have contributed to his skill and knowledge base.

     His Studio is located at 195 Pemberton Ave. in North Vancouver where he enjoys the company and influence of both established and emerging artists.  Vipond also gives lessons both private and semiprivate at this location.  If interested you are invited to phone 604-209-1197 to arrange for a free half hour interview and/or a critique of your portfolio to examine the best course of action for you as an artist.

     Currently President of the North Shore Artists Guild; and Executive Director of the Inaugural North Shore Art Crawl: Vipond also is an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the North Vancouver Community Arts Council.  He conducts workshops in a variety of fine art topics.
