Biography

     Born in Motherwell, Scotland; Vipond was raised and schooled in B. C. He developed a keen interest in painting from an early age.  Now retired as an art and gym teacher with the North Vancouver School Board; he is devoting all of his time to developing his skills in oil painting and iconography.  His style continues to evolve through experimentation and practice. He works in series on various themes and plays with a variety of color arrangements.  

     Vipond travels extensively and has visited most of the major art galleries in the world.  He takes inspiration from the great masters and tries to learn from them all.  Workshops and courses by local artists such as Stafford Plant, Paul Chizik, Mike Svob, and Vladimir Blagonadezhdin have contributed to his skill and knowledge base.

     Currently President of the North Shore Artists Guild; Vipond also is an Active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and the North Vancouver Community Arts Council.  He conducts workshops in a variety of fine art topics.
