Creativity has been part of my “self-portrait” as long as I can remember and although have tried many media and various crafts, when I started painting in acrylics in 2004 I knew I had found the perfect medium.
Painting has given me a more disciplined eye, making me edit what I see through the camera lens. Sometimes I snap a picture and only later discover that I've captured something so remarkable that I must paint it.
Buildings, architectural forms and reflective surfaces such as water and glass catch my attention and I like to contrast them with natural elements. Often, after the more exacting work of painting a cityscape, I let loose with a more free-flowing landscape or water scene. I like the challenge of tackling a difficult subject and enjoy creating paintings from scenes that many people would pass by without a second glance.
It gives me great pleasure when people enjoy my work, but the greatest pleasure is seeing a painting emerge from a blank canvas. To see what I have been working on, click the links at the left under "Galleries".
When I'm not painting, I work as an interior designer, which allows me to extend my creativity to others. If you'd like to see samples of my work, click the "Projects" link at the left.
