Florence E. Allardice

SpacerI paint under my maiden name Florence Di Florio. A native of Vancouver, my interest in art came from the time that I could pick up a pencil. My aim is to express what I see in people and places that tell a story and depict the humanity, love, beauty, sorrow, and tragedy in the world. I hope to move the observer into questioning, puzzling and perhaps seeking an answer of a deeper meaning, or just gaining pleasure.

I have studied under some of our leading artists in oil, watercolour and acrylics in Vancouver, the North Shore
and Vancouver Island. Courses were also  taken at The Vancouver Academy of Art, and The Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design.

I am the Publicity Director for the North Shore Artist's Guild, a member of the West Vancouver Community Arts Council, the North Vancouver Arts Council, and the Seymour Art Gallery.

A solo exhibition of my paintings have been exhibited at the Ron Andrews Gallery.   I have had my art displayed at Van City Banks, both Vancouver and North Vancouver, the Bfly Atelier Gallery, the Silk Purse, the Seymour Art Gallery, Park Royal Mall, the West Vancouver Library, and the West Vancouver Chamber of Commerce to mention a few..

My husband and I travel extensively and with my camera I explore and record the culture, life, and vistas around the world. These pictures allow me to capture in paint many of the worlds wonders. This has resulted in a lifetime of work ahead.
