Elizabeth Cox

Elizabeth is a painter from West Vancouver, B.C., Canada and until about ten years ago, her career had been as a commercial artist. She graduated from Langara College’s “Art in Merchandising” program in 1981 and for the next sixteen years worked as a window display artist, consultant and instructor. Elizabeth began watercolour painting in 1999. She currently has a line of cards that are reproductions of her paintings for sale at wine stores, gift shops and galleries and her paintings have been featured in numerous gallery exhibits. Elizabeth loves to paint, quilt and garden and she hopes that her paintings reflect her love of colour, composition and nature.
Elizabeth has recently designed a tea towel for Creative Tea Towels which can be viewed at their website: http://www.creativeteatowels.com/artists/elizabeth-sutherland-cox.php
In June 2009, Elizabeth was commissioned to paint the World Federation of Rose Society Hall of Fame Rose 2009 “Graham Thomas”. This painting was awarded to breeder David Austin of the UK at the International World Rose Festival held in Vancouver in 2009.
In the fall of 2009, Elizabeth will be teaching beginner’s watercolour painting classes! See the West Vancouver District leisure guide for more information, or phone 604-925-7270.
