The locale is a small tidal inlet, in Richmond B.C., that is filled and emptied by the north arm of the Fraser River. It is lined with old weathered buildings that look like they might once have served as gear lockers for a small enclave of fishermen, but, by the time I stumbled across it in the eighties, there didn't seem to be much activity of any kind. It was a great place to unlimber the folding chair and just enjoy the wonderful things that the afternoon sun does to the textures and colors of elderly structures. I haven't returned for some time now - It's about time I did - but back then it was a quiet and pleasant place to set up an easel and have at it.
